Project created in Fall 2018
The public restroom was located adjacent to the Damen Arts Plaza located on the 606 Trail. The structure was built out of concrete and glass, physically expressing the open and closed spaces in the restroom. The concrete spaces of the buiding were designed to be carved out of the block of concrete in their own organically shaped cut outs giving a naturalistic feel to the spaces in relation to the site. The concrete was used to create a feeing of maximum privacy in a public space. The materiality of the building along with light and dark of spaces helps to express he nature of each space.
